california dui checkpoints

Fined for illegal U-turn in a business district 22102VC?
22102VC have a ticket for an illegal U-turn tonight in Los Angeles, California. It is my very first-class ticket and could use some help on what to do. I came on an entire row of cars that werent moving. I saw police cars scattered later and thought it was a car accident. my line started to make a U-turn to avoid the area. I was at the end of that row. Suddenly a policeman pulls me over and asks me why I'm trying to avoid a DUI checkpoint. I explain that I had no idea and no signal at all. I know its my fault for following the crowd, I do not know if my reasons will give me a lighter sentence. I looked for my own good and is 146 $. Will this go on my DMV record and insurance?
Unfortunately, 'everyone was doing it' does not work, nor without knowing the intricacies of the law, strange as it may be. In this case, it seems that you did not know what was happening, and there was some confusion. First, we know that the police always be asked what you were doing to be stopped because they have microphones from wireless to follow and record video to your car stereo. In court, admitting on tape that he did, no doubt about it. As for the situation, admitted the officer, that does not bother me in court. Furthermore, it is likely that the shift was captured on tape. I would suggest you go for a hearing officer (the level before the Court), if one exists in their jurisdiction, and explain what happened. In general, these people are prepared to reduce the fines to keep doing business outside registration, or dismiss it altogether, without cutting. It could offer a "stay", where unless you have another ticket within a year, it diminishes your registration. If does not work, I would suggest to pay since they have a good defense. Will you go on your driving record? Yes, but it is likely that, as a serious violation of excess speed and definitely not as serious as, say bottle open. His first-class ticket does not affect your insurance as well as his second, so try to stay away from the cops for a while. Check with your insurance company to see how we can improve, but do not tell them you have a ticket. They might not know immediately. Good luck!
